The agent of in-demand 1. FSV Mainz 05 midfielder Yunus Malli has dropped the strongest hint yet that his client could be headed to another club in the upcoming transfer window.
The playmaker already has six assists and eight goals in 17 matches in all competitions this season. However, it is not just his exploits this term that has caught the eye and he has been on the radar of many of the top clubs in Europe for a couple of years already.
Another worrying factor for Mainz is the fact that his contract is set to expire in just over a year and a half, and may risk losing him for free in 18 months if they don’t cash in now.
Borussia Dortmund are believed to be leading the race for his signature, but there is believed to be interest from top flight clubs in England and Spain too.
While he didn’t give anything specific away, the player’s agent, and uncle, Ilhan Malli revealed that they would be willing to consider offers from other clubs next month.
“If interesting offers arrive, we will get together,” the player’s representative told Bild.
Malli began his professional career as a teenager in the youth ranks at Borussia Monchengladbach, before making the move to Mainz, on a free transfer, in 2011.
He has gone on to make 123 Bundesliga appearances for the Nullfunfer, scoring 28 goals in the process.
