Libya conflict: At least 11 gov’t soldiers killed near Misrata

Fighting has erupted again in the area near the strategic western city of Misrata, as renegade military commander Khalifa Haftar’s forces advance towards it.

At least 11 government soldiers were killed and 100 others injured.

This shatters a fragile ceasefire agreed to earlier this month, undoing the work of world leaders who tried to broker talks between Libya’s rival governments.

Al Jazeera’s Tony Birtley reports from Misrata.
