Minister suggests relocation of Ponorogo landslide victims

Ponorogo, E Java (ANTARA News) – Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa has suggested relocation of victims of a landslide that strike Ponorogo District, East Java Province, on Saturday morning.

“An choice for many areas disposed to landslides is relocation,” Minister Khofifah pronounced when visiting victims of a landslide in Wagir Kidul, Pulung Sub-district, here, Sunday.

To support a relocation plan, a district administration contingency allot a tract of land, she said, adding that applicable ministries will build houses for a victims, and a Social Affairs Ministry will yield seat and other equipment, as good as amicable allowances.

She pronounced environmental plunge could trigger landslides, therefore, tree planting activities in dull areas should be intensified.

Incessant surge given Friday dusk triggered a landslide that occurred in Banaran village, Pulung Sub-district, Ponorogo District, on Saturday during around 6 a.m. internal time.
