Jokowi visits Cirebon for open campaign

Cirebon, W Java (ANTARA) – Presidential candidate number 01 Joko Widodo was present at the open campaign organized by the Indonesian Coalition Work National Campaign Team in Cirebon District, West Java, Friday.

The incumbent president and his wife Iriana arrived at the campaign location at around 10.00 am local time.

An open campaign was held in the field of Gebang Mekar Village in Cirebon District, targeting some 20 thousand participants.

The venue is on the north coast of Java Island where several fishermen are engaged in activities.

Artist Said Bajuri acted as the host of the open campaign.

Prior to entry on the stage, presidential candidate Jokowi had boarded a 200-meter boat-shaped ornamental car for a parade as part of a campaign.

The Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDIP) Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri, senior  PDIP politicians Pramono Anung and Rokhmin Dahuri, as well as West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, and the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin pair’s national campaign team chief Erick Thohir were attendees at the open campaign.

Prior to attending the open campaign, Jokowi held a closed-door meeting with the Cirebon community and religious leaders at a hotel where he was staying. Members of the mass media were barred from the meeting.
