Purwokerto, C Java (ANTARA) – Banyumas readies tank trucks to anticipate drought
Regional drinking water company (PDAM) Tirta Satria in Banyumas district, Central Java, has readied three tank trucks in anticipation of a clean water crisis and drought in the district.
“PDAM Banyumas has prepared three tank trucks to distribute clean water to areas that need it,” the company’s technical director, Wipi Supriyanto, said on Thursday.
“We are ready to distribute clean water, in accordance with the request and, cooperate with relevant agencies, particularly PDAM subscribers living in drought-hit areas.” he said.
Meanwhile, the BPBD has also prepared 1,000 water tankers to respond to a clean water crisis.
“In total, we have deployed 13 water tankers to villages facing clean water crisis,” he said.
He noted that at least six villages in the district began to face water crises due to declining rainfalls in the region.
The six villages are Banjarparakan in Rawalo Sub-district, Nusadadi in Sumpiuh sub-district, Karanganyar in Patikraja sub-district and Kediri in Karanglewa sub-district, he said.
Other villages include Srowot in Kalibagor sub-district and Pekuncen village in Jatilawang sub-district, he added.
